1. Twitter is removing the option to tag your precise location

For those concerned with safety or privacy, the removal of this location tagging feature from Twitter is a great move. For the rest of us, it’s not something we use on the regular. Regardless, Twitter has decided to switch off this feature for end users so we won’t be able to use this feature to tag our own photos. Twitter will still probably be able to know exactly where we are when we use the app, but no one else will be able to from now on.
2. Facebook to launch digital currency, Libra, in an effort to create new global payment system

Facebook announced on Tuesday that is planning to help launch Libra, a digital currency company, in 2020. The Libra Association is a new nonprofit group from Geneva which will be backed by Facebook, but governed by 28 partners, including payment firms such as Visa and Mastercard, and other internet companies like eBay, Spotify, and Uber. Facebook wants the currency to be available starting the first half of next year.
3. Instagram begins testing new procedures to help users regain access to hacked accounts

After many reports of users losing access to valuable accounts, Instagram is testing a new feature that allows the original user to regain access from hackers. The feature asks for the phone number or email address initially attached to the account, where it will then send a six-digit verification code. This same process will also protect people whose usernames were changed.

5. Facebook Announces Updated Ranking Factors for Post Comments

As you may have noticed, Facebook has an algorithm behind the way the platform organizes comments on posts. Comments from a friend will show up first, followed by the most liked or replied to comments, as well as “top fan” comments. To encourage more conversations and engagement on the platform, Facebook is now prioritizing comments based on their engagement by the original poster.
