#MMinspo: Covid-19 Social Media Ideas (Part 6)

It’s time for the sixth weekly roundup of our team’s favorite COVID-19 related social media posts! We launched this series to feature some of the great content seen in our feeds about how to make the most of this time, provide helpful advice, spread positivity, and encourage helping others.

Social media engagement has now shown to have increased by 61% over normal usage rates. “Messaging across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp has increased 50% in countries hardest hit by the virus. Twitter is seeing 23% more daily users than a year ago.” (Read more in a recent Forbes article here.)

Scroll down for our next list, and check back every week for a new round. When you’re done, feel free to drop a comment with a brand you’ve seen doing social media right during this unprecedented time.

1. Financial tool @getkoho puts another spin on taking a moment to breathe using the familiar iPhone volume mute screen.

2. @mailchimppresents has an appealing way to get the message across about an announcement. This could be used for a reopening, virtual event, or piece of news.

3. MM Client @bluebird_bio designed a simple, colorfully bold graphic with standout text to highlight a key phrase. Something like this can be used for staff spotlight quotes, notable items within a list, or the main point of an announcement.

4. This @honey template grabs attention with button-themed giveaway text and a branded splash of color.

5. As summer approaches, @createcultivate‘s digital “summer camp” is a brilliant idea! This could be a new approach to the “couchella” and virtual festival events that have been done many times up to this point. The carousel format is great with a flyer-style graphic for the first image, followed by a slide for each activity taking place at camp.

6. I love how the @bumble app posted a quiz in a format often seen in magazines. This could be used for an entertainment piece of content with shows that are relevant to your industry; for example: cooking shows for a restaurant and home improvement shows for real estate.

7. @bumble also caught our attention with a relatable post, both in terms of the familiar DM design and content consisting of things many people have done or seen friends do. This can be customized with any quarantine-specific activity for a fun social media piece.

8. Business Innovation District and MM Client @centralsqbid uses simple templates to share news articles by outlining a screenshot of the news with a customized border of their branded colors and a fun design. This will look much better in your feed than an article or email alert screenshot alone.

9. We love @sweetgreen and their way of showing some behind-the-scenes details — in pop-up and folder form— of a new menu item. Something similar can be done for an item or product launch!

10. Luxury apartment building and MM Client @theandisouthbay literally illustrates how a virtual tour looks by showing someone holding their phone with the apartment imagery on the screen. This is a great model for other apartment buildings, condos, and homes until in-person tours and showings can resume.
