It’s time for the fifth weekly roundup of our team’s favorite COVID-19 related social media posts! We launched this series to feature some of the great content seen in our feeds about how to make the most of this time, provide helpful advice, spread positivity, and encourage helping others.
Social media engagement has now shown to have increased by 61% over normal usage rates. “Messaging across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp has increased 50% in countries hardest hit by the virus. Twitter is seeing 23% more daily users than a year ago.” (Read more in a recent Forbes article here.)
Scroll down for our next list, and check back every week for a new round. When you’re done, feel free to drop a comment with a brand you’ve seen doing social media right during this unprecedented time.
1. Luxury apartment building and MM Client @livemarketcentral offers a friendly reminder that now is the time to get creative, and also used an example of a local mural for inspo.
2. @johnhancockusa straight up suggests to stop scrolling and relax for a minute. This is a simple standout graphic — it caught my attention and got me to take a brief breather.
3. There have been a lot of self care menus circulating social media feeds, but @mynames_ellen designed hers as a recipe with a corresponding visual. If you have an illustrator or are good with Photoshop or Canva, this can be done your way with your own recipe!
4. @thefabstory app gave a WFH theme to a “spot the difference” style post — relevant to current times and also takes the viewer’s mind away from everything for a few minutes! You could even run this with a giveaway, and select a random winner(s) among those who reply with all the correct answers.
5. Offering daily promotions is a great way to encourage takeout/delivery orders, like MM Client @jakenjoes has been doing. Post about it frequently so followers know it’s a recurring deal when they plan out meals. Plus, what better imagery to go along with it than closeup mouthwatering food?
6. Bingo cards, This or That, surveys… report cards! Here’s an example by @vinepair — not only a good way to encourage comments, but this could also be designed to fit Instagram stories so people can share and check it off themselves. The report card showcases less items then an entire bingo card, which makes it quicker to brainstorm and requires less text in the design.

7. Organic snack company @eatsweetnothings replaces real workout suggestions with fun ones. This can work with categories including food, online shopping, watching TV, and playing with pets.

8. The account for Newport, Rhode Island @dscvrnewport uses the classic, recognizable iPhone reminder mockup and fills it in with a piece of normalcy that can still experienced at this time. Things like sunsets, parks, and other scenes of nature can be widely used. You can also implement something specific to your town/city, location, or property.
9. Sometimes choosing a restaurant is easy, but deciding what to eat isn’t. Tex-Mex restaurant and MM Client @annastaqueria helps customers solve this dilemma with a word search! Brilliant and easy. Restaurants can obviously do this with food items. Shops can include gift items (a nice idea for care package or Father’s Day content).
