#MMinspo: Covid-19 Social Media Ideas (Part 4)

It’s time for the fourth weekly roundup of our team’s favorite COVID-19 related social media posts! We launched this series to feature some of the great content seen in our feeds about how to make the most of this time, provide helpful advice, spread positivity, and encourage helping others.

First, some new info: “A study of 25,000 consumers across 30 markets showed engagement increasing 61% over normal usage rates. Messaging across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp has increased 50% in countries hardest hit by the virus. Twitter is seeing 23% more daily users than a year ago.” (Read more in a recent Forbes article here.)

Scroll down for our next list, and check back every week for a new round. When you’re done, feel free to drop a comment with a brand you’ve seen doing social media right during this unprecedented time.

1. MM Client @hig.insurance shared a story about one of their clients who switched gears to making PPE. If anyone in your community has done something similar, social media is a great place to acknowledge it. Positive and uplifting!

2. Apartment building and MM Client @lanteraboston created a branded piece highlighting a few easy things to do at home. With the endless list of at-home activities, something like this can be customized in many ways.

3. @netflix used this simple but very appealing venn diagram to post a few ways to divide time (in their case, between shows). This is my first time seeing a list or comparison in this format, and it’s a cool approach!

4. This post by @optionb is a good example of providing “meditative” content with a simple animation. Take your static image up a notch like this.

5. @theeverygirl is looking ahead with a post-isolation bucket list — what a great idea! Anyone can make one of these by compiling a list of items, laying them out in a similar graphic, and asking followers to comment with their answers. It’s very engaging!

6. MM Client Gaudette Insurance Agency posted a nice thank you message for essential workers. A graphic like this speaks for itself, and any additional messaging can be included in the caption. (Tuesday, May 12th is International Nurses Day — a perfect reason to express gratitude!)

7. The @go.milkshake app showed off some fun inspo for delivery promotion — something very relevant right now — while subtly plugging their free Instagram website service. This is a great example of how to push a service that’s useful right now.

8. Social media scheduler @latermedia comes in here with some creative AirDrop style content. Very recognizable but still fun and promotes something informative! You can make a visual like this to promote an upcoming webinar, eBook, or Instagram Live session.

9. With everybody obsessed with virtual home workouts right now, @mindbody made a good call with a post shouting out fitness instructors. You could do something similar to the general essential worker thank you posts, or design it more specific to fitness like they did here.

10. Restaurant and MM Client The Chateau made a custom version of Quarantine Houses with their own menu items. This is a great idea for local restaurants with a strong fanbase — this one received almost 200 comments!
