It’s time for the second weekly roundup of our team’s favorite COVID-19 related social media posts! In case you missed it, last week we launched this series featuring great content we’ve seen in our feeds about how to make the most of this time, provide helpful advice, spread positivity, and encourage helping others.
Reminder: Facebook and Instagram have seen a 40% increase in usage due to COVID-19, so this is the time for your business to *pivot, not pause* to further engage your current audience and connect with a new one. Imagine the relationships you’ll form that will last past this quarantine — they could make all the difference when it comes to reopening or going back to business as [hopefully] usual.
Read on for our next list, and check back every week for a new round. When you’re done, feel free to drop a comment with a brand you’ve seen doing social media right during this unprecedented time.
1. Vegetable chip brand @terrachips makes light of the fact we’ve been calling into Zoom for… we’ve lost track of how long. You could make a play on this example with something like a food item, product, or mascot!

It’s a risk waking up 3 minutes before your first call, but one we’re clearly all okay with

2. Piggybacking off the Zoom idea, MM Clients @boston_landing and @cambrewingco — along with many other accounts — have been creating custom backgrounds and making them available for download. Create your own with interior shots of your building or restaurant, the neighborhood of your businesses, or fun designs corresponding with your branding or vibe.
3. @hummkombucha introduced #FeelGoodFriday, which is a great idea for a weekly series anyone can implement to share information while spreading positivity.
4. @hummkombucha also designed a bold, colorful “thank you” animation to express gratitude, and it really stands out in the feed. A visual can be made with your branding guidelines.

We’re practicing gratitude instead of jokes this year.

5. Nutrition product brand @oatly is going the “we’re here to provide fun entertainment right now” route, rather than trying to sell to followers. Their “Oatly Department of Distraction Services” campaign features photos and videos presenting their brand in silly ways. Try this with merch and products, and skip the sales-focused copy for now.
6. Everyone loves to see the faces behind the brand! Tech company @gramamrly had employees submit photos of their pets and WFH setups to post on social. Do the same to show everyone what your staff is up to at home!
7. You’ve probably seen bingo cards all over Instagram, and with all the themes and combinations circulating, there are plenty of new ideas to create one (or more) one of your own! Luxury residence and MM Client @protokendallsq did a fun one for staying home, and took it a step further by offering prizes to residents who complete and share theirs. Search the #quarantinebingo hashtag for more inspo.
8. The @shemakeschicago community used an illustration instead of a basic list to suggest ways to stay inspired while at home. This can be implemented with any list of ideas you have for this time.
9. “Quarantine Houses” are trending right now, and @testkitchen posted a great food-related one! Restaurants can do this with their own menu items or ingredients, while retailers can with products, fitness companies with workouts, etc. Or, take the pop culture route and create houses with celebrities, TV/movies, and lifestyles. Scroll through the #quarantinehouse hashtag for more inspo.
10. Food and cocktail blogger @arlisappetite not only jumped on the Delgado Coffee hype, but she added her own twist and shared it with followers. This could be a fun approach if you’re leaning in the direction of entertaining followers with recipes. Get staff members involved with their own versions!
