Instagram, Facebook and more — social media has had some very important updates this week! While one has started to include features that support mental illnesses, the other… now lets you order movie tickets and food. Moreover, we have an update on the selfie-drone camera this week and a video for you to watch!
PS. It’s taken us long to get over the fact that Candy Crush is now coming out with a live TV show game. Weird, right? Learn more below:
1. CBS is turning “Candy Crush” into a game show
by @sarahintampa via @techcrunch
Yes, there’s something crazier happening than an emoji movie. What do we expect with a live game TV show being conceptualized around the Candy Crush game? Gigantic candies and 3D game boards? This might just be less of a probability, and more of a reality. With CBS holding the rights to the deal, we wonder how the show would turn out to be. Do you think it’ll work and get people back to playing the game? Will the Facebook invites ever stop?
2. Instagram puts Stories front and center in the Explore tab
by @napilopez via @TheNextWeb
Another update from Instagram AGAIN this week! With the company planning to move Stories to the Explore tab, your Stories are only going to get more public! The Stories which are going to be suited to your interests only promise more diversity in content. Do you think this would be helpful to brands? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
3. Facebook now lets you order food and buy movie tickets in-app
by @napilopez via @TheNextWeb
Guess who took the next step toward ease of access? Yes, Facebook. You can now order food from your favorite restaurant by visiting their Facebook page and placing an order. Additionally, the company is also releasing an app that can help you track events happening near you. Learn more about the other new features like ‘recommendations’ by clicking on the link above!
4. The future of selfies is this camera drone with facial recognition
via @mashable
Remember we updated you about the passport-sized selfie camera last week? We now have a video to show you how it looks! Watch this video to know more about the drone’s specifications and features. We already love it and can’t wait to see when they start ruling the market. How competitive and affordable do you think the market is going to be for this product?
5.Instagram’s new support tool could help people with mental illness
by @RVT9 via @mashable
This might be one of the most interesting updates we’ve ever tracked. The company has planned on launching a support tool which helps people to report other people who might be in danger of self-injury or suffering from any kind of mental illness. This will be executed through a list of options to choose from, like calling a helpline or even a friend. Comforting, isn’t it?
