2. Facebook Announces New Options for Live – Both for Viewers and Broadcasters
By:@adhutchinson via @socialmedia2day
Facebook continues to improve its live-streaming product and recently announced three new features to enhance both the viewer and broadcaster experience. We can look forward to being able to maximize screen real-estate by streaming sideways, and also silencing reactions and comments to avoid distractions. The final new feature more than doubles the limit for broadcasting time as well, which became quite useful for those streaming the national conventions this past week.

Carolyn Grisko, President and CEO of marketing agency Grisko, talked to Entrepreneur about the large role that social media plays in the way businesses communicate. She stresses the importance of creative storytelling when communicating to audiences, and blending a strong message with emotional connection. 4. Snapchat is looking at a way to recognize objects in your snaps and serve you related ads
By:@larakiara via @businessinsider
Snapchat is working on item recognition technology to tailor filters and advertisements to users. A patent published by the United States Patent and Trademark office last Thursday explains how the new feature would work. Right now Snapchat already uses “geofilters“, or overlays users can apply to their snaps that change depending on their landmark, area, or event taking place where they are located. The new feature aims to take this idea to the next level by using the users actual photos as the indicator for new filters and ads.
