Hey guys! Kim here — Metter Media’s resident Pilates instructor + Wellness Coordinator. While summer is winding down and we shift our mindset to fall, it’s safe to say that we’ve all adapted to new routines brought on by quarantine. A fresh workout routine is key to maintaining an energizing WFH life, and with that comes lots of at-home workouts. A whole new kind of fitness community has emerged in 2020 (kudos to the trailblazers of the fitness community). Our team has been keeping active in a variety of ways, thanks to all of IGTV and app workouts out there. Here are some of our go-to’s:
IG Live + IGTV
Rachael DeVaux @rachaelsgoodeats
In addition to being a Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer, Rachael has an awesome range of IGTV workouts that live on her feed, ranging from full body, HIIT, targeted muscle groups, and quickie 30 minute classes. You’ll also find a plethora of yummy recipes in the mix! If you need a fun, feel-good workout, look no further than Rachael.
Kelly Brabants @bootybybrabants
Quite a few members of the MM team often sport the #BootyByBrabants sets on our team Zoom calls, and founder Kelly Brabants offers weekly IG Live classes, featuring her beloved booty-poppin’ workout. Be sure to give her a follow and check out her story to see what her weekly class schedule is. Fun fact: this is a Boston-born and total #GIRLBOSS business!
Strong Nation @wearestrongnation
If you’re someone who has a better workout when your playlist is *on point*, Strong Nation should be next on your list. Featuring a high-intensity workout led by music, this Zumba-inspired method has an ample selection of workouts on IGTV depending on the time you have and what muscle group you want to focus on. We recommend trying their 7 Minutes to Stronger Series to start— any combination of a few of these are sure to give you a real good sweat ‘sesh!
Apps + Online Programs
Another favorite amongst our team, namely 21 Day Fix and Yoga, Beachbody on Demand offers a subscription-based web platform for easy access to hundreds of fitness programs. This is a fantastic option if you’ve ditched the gym but still want the variety of group fitness options that an IRL gym would offer. We love that you can download workouts for offline use when you’re on the go or taking a staycation!
Peloton App @onepeloton
Raise your hand if you know someone who bought a Peloton during quarantine! 👋👋 While Peloton started out, and is still used for immersive cycling workouts, they’ve also got a ton of running, stretching, and strength training workouts on their app. At a super reasonable monthly cost, the accessibility and options they offer is unbeatable. The instructors are top-notch and are guaranteed to keep you motivated! Instructors Matty Maggiacomo, Robin Arzón, and Cody Rigsby are favorites amongst our team.
Madeline took her former IG class platform @madeline_moves and now offers programs on her app, Madeline Moves. For an accessible monthly subscription, you get access to form videos of every exercise in her workout library. Madeline also championed the #TighterTogether challenge, with mini workouts targeting specific muscle groups for ultimate sculpting + toning. The app contains bodyweight + resistance band workouts, but if you’ve got access to a gym or your own weights/equipment, you’ll find even more options with Madeline Moves.
