What is this Vero app everyone’s talking about?
Well, here’s what we know: Vero, a new social media platform created by Lebanese billionaire Ayman Hariri, is striking chords with social media influencers everywhere by offering its application for free — for its first 1 million useres.
Why does it matter if it’s free, you ask? Well, unlike other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc., Vero is an ad-free, non-information mining, clean, self-regulated network.
This means: a.) advertisements won’t clog your feed, and b.) your information is safe with you, not sold to Google. Weird, right?
Wanna know what’s weirder? This app was launched all the way back in 2015. So why is it getting big all of a sudden? Well, as we mentioned earlier, the app announced that it was going to be free for the first 1 million users to download it. And as of last week, the app hit 3.5 million users — prompting Vero to extend its “free for life” offer to all new users until further notice.

Okay, we know everyone is raging right now over the new Snapchat updates. Let’s be honest — the new set up is less than ideal for a number of reasons, one being the way to choose to whom your snaps go. Now, instead of clicking down a quick line of streaks, you have to scroll through your entire friends list to make sure you didn’t miss someone. Who has time for that?
And, while having snap stories on the same page as your friends list might seem like it’s saving time, having to redevelop the habit of swiping left has been a total pain! But we can’t completely disregard the positive updates: the new fonts are pretty cool, and the new backdrops are pretty cute (if you can find a reason to use them).
Needless to say, there are a lot of opinions associated with the new Snapchat. Here’s how some of the team at Metter feel about the commotion:
Lots happened on social media this week — are you caught up? Instagram introduced Type Mode and another new feature for advertisers. Snapchat is trying to keep up, following behind with new fonts and new features (and no one’s happy). Facebook wants to expand its video capabilities. Also — get a first look at the next batch of Emojis! Read more in this weeks #MMSocialReport:
