Client Spotlight: Quincy Mutual Group

You may be surprised and intrigued to learn that Metter Media has an entire insurance division! Yes, that’s right — we love working with local insurance agents and carriers to make their personalities and stories *shine* on social media.

Quincy Mutual Group has been a stalwart of the insurance industry for 160+ years — since 1851. And not only that, but they also have had an A+ rating from AM BEST continuously since 1922. Partnering with Metter Media, Quincy is embracing digital — choosing to evolve with the times in what is usually a traditional industry. And we’ve devised a super creative social strategy for Quincy that makes insurance educational and *fun*. (yes, #fun!)

One of our major #goals for Quincy’s social media is to reach the next generation of insurance buyers where they are: on social media.

“One of the goals in insurance is: how do we become accessible to new generations? Even though we’ve been around for 160+ years, social media has allowed us to reach the next generation of insurance buyers,” says Quincy Mutual Group VP of Marketing Brian Cadigan.

Some campaigns we’ve created for Quincy Mutual include their Agent Spotlight Series, staff spotlights, and posts promoting their dedication to giving back to their local community.

AGENT SPOTLIGHT SERIES

Quincy Mutual Group has partnered with 500+ independent insurance agents across MA, CT, and RI. Their agent spotlight series highlights two of these agents a month. Metter Media interviews the agency owners for Quincy Mutual’s blog, and then puts together a professional quality video about them. Both tell their story and show how the agents are unique. The Agent Spotlight series allows Quincy to provide added value and publicity for the agents they work with, and directs individuals to local agents they may not have known about.

HIGHLIGHT CHARITY AND COMMUNITY EFFORTS

People want to work with companies who give back to their local communities. We use Quincy’s social media channels to highlight how they give back to local nonprofits and care about the community they live in. This makes the company more attractive to new employees and agents alike. It also helps get the word out even more about the charities they support!

“We were always frustrated that we didn’t have a [social media] presence,” says Cadigan. “The company does a lot of good things for charities, and we’ve always been close minded about promoting ourselves. With the social media — employee photos, having you guys there at both of the employee meetings … we’re seeing more engagement from employees. You’ve helped change the culture here.”

One of our goals with social media is to make the company seem more human, personal, and relatable to their audience, and Employee Spotlights are a great way to do this. The Employee Spotlight highlights the diverse team members who make Quincy Mutual Group the company it is today. It also improves employee morale — friends, family members, and coworkers tend to comment on these posts and recognize the staff member, saying things like, “I love working with Jennifer!”
