It’s not that easy to guess who’s on Twitter. It’s also not that easy to become an Instagram Influencer. But with constant updates coming to all platforms/apps, and information being circulated at a high pace, the spread of fake news has become a major concern. What are the regulations we need to set? Read on for a few of the solutions that we came across:

1.Who is Using Twitter?

by @jeffbullas

Which age groups are using Twitter? Has the medium really been growing since 2010? How often do people tweet? Ever wondered what goes on behind the medium that allows you to tweet only 140 characters? Learn all the answers to these questions and more about how the platform has influenced smartphone culture. Tweet to us and tell us what makes you prefer Twitter over any other medium!

2.Confessions of an Instagram Influencer

by @chafkin via @business

“I used to post cat photos. Then a marketing agency made me a star.” — More than just ‘behind-the-scenes’ and a lot more than what an online influencer’s routine looks like, this article talks about the journey of a typical Instagram user and how he climbed the ‘ladder of influence.’ From not knowing how to style himself to owning the lifestyle blogger category on Instagram, learn more about his first collaboration and other similar experiences!

3.Twitter Moments just got even easier to use

by @kerrymflynn via @mashabletech

Twitter Moments just got a lot easier to curate! The feature, which is now available on mobile, can be accessed by choosing a tweet and clicking on the gray arrow on the upper-right hand corner. By making Moments more easier and accessible to its users, Twitter seems to be making expedited changes to communication. What are the other changes you think Twitter will get to us in 2017?

4.Most students can’t tell fake news from real news, study shows

by @jordanrcrook via @techcrunch

Results from a recent Stanford study found that approximately 82% of middle school school students couldn’t distinguish between real news and “sponsored content” news. A big part of this comes down to education, but the fact that news is now being consumed by all age groups through social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter can’t be ignored. Do you think we should be responsible to help judge the authenticity of news?

5.How Google is tackling fake news, and why it should not do it alone

by @bowdeni86 via @sengineland

Several media corporations have a huge responsibility on themselves in 2017 — primarily, to combat fake news. The most important one (Google) doesn’t have the power to determine who does/does not appear in their listings, but here are 5 ways it can tackle the spread of false information. We also hope other media platforms take immediate steps to act upon this.
