When it comes to social media, the only guarantee is that it’s always changing. From new platforms, sharing styles and algorithms, staying on trend can be a full-time job itself. If you’re a brand, creator or business hoping to boost your engagement on social media, here are a few things to try.
Educational Entertainment
Save-worthy content is on the rise and one of the simplest ways to ensure someone keeps coming back to your page. From life hacks to industry tips and tricks, there are endless ways to provide value to your audience.
Here’s an example of a short form video with tips from our team.
AI Effects
In 2022, TikTok really took AI Effects and ran with them. From filters that animate your selfie to entire backgrounds and more, this trend has seeped on to other platforms like Instagram and we’re now seeing a rise in the popularity of AI copy generators. Though we think originality will always be a priority when it comes to success on social media, we’ll certainly be seeing AI play a larger role across all channels.

Short Videos
Gen Z was the driving force behind the popularity of short form videos like TikToks and Reels but over the past year, everyone else has joined in on the trend and we’re even seeing them on LinkedIn and Facebook now. As attention spans shrink more and more, these short videos are not only easy to make but impactful when it comes to getting your message across.
Social Media Subscriptions
In recent years, subscriptions for exclusive content from creators has helped them create a tight-knit community where they can share more freely. For example, Patreon is a membership-only platform where followers can pay a monthly fee for content that can only be found on Patreon. Recently, TikTok and Instagram have also launched subscription options that offer perks like badges the longer you’re subscribed and access to live-chats with your favorite creators and brands.
Amplifying UGC (User-Generated Content)
With more and more creators flooding social media, brands now have access to seemingly unlimited UGC. From re-sharing an influencer’s post about a recent purchase to giving creative direction and paying them to create a short video for your brand, utilizing UGC allows you to reach an entirely new audience that may not already be following you. If GRWM videos are coming to mind where influencers share their favorite makeup products, you’re on the right track as this is a perfect example of UGC for a beauty brand.
Customer Service and Social Media
It’s not a new trend for businesses to connect with customers on social media and rectify any issues that arise, but creating social media channels solely for customer service is something we’ll see much more of moving forward. Since customers are coming to social media with their concerns more frequently, having a channel with a dedicated team to address customers directly just makes sense.
We’re looking forward to seeing what new social trends this year will bring. What trends are you planning to try in 2023?
